FinTech — or financial technology — is rapidly transforming how individuals and businesses access, manage, and grow their financial resources. In Qatar and the broader GCC region, this shift holds tremendous potential to promote financial inclusion, support national economic diversification, and empower underserved populations.

This research project was launched under the National Priorities Research Program (NPRP14) funded by the Qatar National Research Fund. It aims to investigate the socio-economic impacts of FinTech adoption in Qatar, particularly its effects on households, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), women, and low-income groups.

The project brings together a multidisciplinary team of economists, legal scholars, and policy experts to provide data-driven insights and actionable recommendations aligned with Qatar National Vision 2030.
